Duration: 1 Day Bako National Park is located around 37km outside of the state capital, Kuching; it is one of the best places in Sarawak to view an abundance of wildlife in their natural surroundings. The park is around an hour from Kuching, and requires a boat trip to reach this coastal park. There are many beaches, engulfed by a well-marked set of trails and beautiful cliffs. The trails are rich with an abundance of flora and fauna waiting to be discovered including the largest concentration of Borneo's endemic proboscis monkey. The rainforest, which ranges from the coastal mangroves to the mixed dipterocarp forest has a vast array of specially adapted plants to please the botanical enthusiasts, such as; orchids, pitcher plants, sundews and ant plants. A trip to Bako National Park can be done in one day, but we suggest that you stay overnight so that you can fully enjoy what the park has to offer. Accommodation can be provided in the park chalets.
