Duration: 1 Day From the state capital, Kuching, the drive to the Semenggonk Urang Utan Sanctuary takes around 45 minutes by road. The Centre cares for endangered species that have either been found injured in the forest, or have been kept as illegal pets. The centre is home to various species including rescued hornbills, honey bears, gibbons and porcupines, but the main attraction is the Orang Utans. You will arrive at Semenggok in time for feeding time, which is around 8.30 to 9 am and 2.30 to 3 pm. There is a good chance of seeing the semi-wild Orang Utans who live in the surrounding forest return to the feeding area for a free meal.
